His name is Adam Bhinder and he is a man of mystery and power, whose power is exceeded only by his mystery. Adam Bhinder is a photographer, graphics and web designer, programmer, network engineer, and an educator. Okay, enough talking about myself in third person, and on to more serious info about me as a photographer.
We live in a world where photography and technology changes constantly and fresh ideas, images, and techniques are constantly in demand. Professionals in every field, especially in photography, must be aware of these changes and possess both flexibility and imagination to stay ahead of the trends. What truly got me started in photography was my middle school teacher Mr. Turner. Without his influence, I would not be in in this creative field. It’s from him, I quickly learned that photography is an art of capturing light and emotions.
My first shutter press was in 1993 on a Nikon FM2, but formal training and theory began in 1995 with a Nikon FM10. Alike most photographers at the time, my start was with film photography and dark rooms. I was also learning graphic arts and offset printing within an all Apple environment for the next 5 years. Here is where I acquired knowledge, ability and the confidence needed to produce compelling images and creative results. Aside from photography and graphics/web design, I continued my studies in the field of software programming, including Internet solutions development and Network/Internet Security. My experience with various business ventures has taught me how to bring ideas to life on time and under budget. I find it very exciting capturing the feelings, emotions and beauty when someone steps into the frame of my camera.
“I’m taking a camera to the grave with me, just in case! Wherever I do end up – it will be heaven if I can shoot photos.” Lee McLaughlin
I am a self-taught photographer from Vancouver, BC. Originally, my interest in photography was born in high school, where I dabbled with black and white film in a tiny bathroom which we eventually transformed into a very hard-to-breathe darkroom. With over 10 years of experience in photography, graphic design, and printing; I have picked up the camera again years later to rejoin my old love for photography, and taken it to the next level.
For the past 4 years I have fully devoted my attention and skills to the art of photography. I started a successful freelance career with nature and product photographs. My work consists of everything from still life to fashion to portraits, often using light and shadows to create depth in images. In addition to this, I have more recently come to enjoy post processing work. I am recognized for diverse lighting techniques at weddings and engagements where each scene is treated as a unique entity that must fit into the surrounding environment.
I am always developing my knowledge, experience and skills, in hopes that others find something of value or interest in my photography just as I often do in the wonders created by others.
