Job Summary
Vivid Dreams Photography INC. is a high-end, dynamic photography and cinematography studio with locations in Greater Vancouver. At our studios, we get to work with some of the most talented and creative people in the industry while maintaining a fun and laid back environment. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and products to our clients and we are still growing! If you’re a freelance photographer and/or cinematographer looking to fill some free weekends, we’d love to discuss the possibility of you joining our team as a primary or secondary shooter.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO VIVID DREAMS PHOTOGRAPHY:
-You are a freelancer, or small business owner of photography/cinematography services with experience in weddings, events or corporate work.
-You possess both creative and technical knowledge of photography elements which includes but is not limited to: advanced use of high-end equipment, creative posing, off-camera flash, use of reflectors etc.
-You are a natural leader and easily direct people to capture the best shots possible.
-You are client service-oriented person with a great attitude and the ability to interact with all types of people in a polished and professional manner.
-Can perform successfully in a fast paced environment.

YOUR SKILLS:
-Technically sound with the use of your gear.
-Creative flare for photography and/or videography.
-Experience in lightroom, photoshop and/or Premiere Pro/ Final Cut Pro X.
-Reliable and easy to work with.
-Fun and adaptable! We want our clients to feel like you are part of their circle.

YOUR AVAILABILITY:
-We need you on the weekends and evenings and sometimes during the day! Our occasional primary photographers and videographers are contracted on a per project basis and are scheduled for full or half days on the weekends.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
-Photography Camera: Canon 5D Mark iii/iv, Nikon D850, Sony a7 III or equivalent/better for photos
-Video camera: GH5, A7S II or equivalent/better for video-Minimum Backup Camera: Canon 5D Mark ii/iii or equivalent/better for photos
-Lighting: Two Canon 480EX/600EX or equivalent/better
-Lenses: One sharp wide angle lens (24-70, 16-35 etc.), 70-200mm f2.8 and one fast prime (example 85mm 1.4)
-Accessories: Extra batteries, storage media, laptop, etc.

What’s a Secondary Shooter?
As a secondary photographer/videographer, you will work directly alongside our lead photographer/videographer on projects and work towards getting experience to become a lead photographer/videographer.

What is an Intern?
The Vivid Dreams internship program is designed for students studying photography or cinematography programs that are seeking a practical application of their learning in a professional studio. We want to support the growth of local talent in our community and help increase the standards in our industry. Accepted candidates will be paired with one of our core photographers or cinematographers to learn about the day to day operations of a professional studio. You will work a minimum of 120 days in total ( in-studio training, editing and on location shooting).

Job Type: Contract
Salary: Depending on your gear and experience
Required education: High school/photo/film school or equivalent or higher
Job Location: Lower Mainland / Vancouver / Surrey – A reliable car is a must.
The hiring process will be conducted in four rounds. 

Round 1: Application:
You are required to submit a cover letter, resume and professional portfolio of your work.
In your cover letter if you can please tell us a little bit about yourself and why you are unique. 
Please provide a PDF of your 5 best in camera shots and those same 5 photos edited and/or
Please provide a link to your online portfolio for us to review. 
Each application will be reviewed by the Vivid Dreams Photography team and a selection of the applicants will be chosen to move on to the next round. 

Round 2: Phone Interview
For the phone interview, only the successful candidates will be contacted. 
The phone interview will be mostly behavioral and lets us get to know you a little better! 
We will also go over your photography background. 

Round 3: Face to Face interview
This round will be a face-to-face interview conducted at our studio with the studio owners Adam and Vick. 

Round 4: Field Test 
Once you have complete the other rounds successfully there will be a period of time where you will shadow our studio’s owners Adam and Vick at weddings ensuring that you maintain the quality experience our couples have come to know and that you know how to capture the imagery our studio is known for.
